2) on the right side of the top of the control panel there are two metal prongs. If you touch both simultaneously with a screwdriver the control panel will be restored to factory settings

3) set the water temperature and calibrate the water temperature probe as indicated in the instruction manual

  • On my control panel is blinking AL, what does it mean?

AL is the overheating alarm, it means that inside the unit the temperature is too high therefore the control panel has stop the compressor to avoid its break.

This problem can be caused by:

1) a wrong installation
If the unit is installed into a cabinet you must create two holes, one on the back wall and one on the bottom in order to let the air came in and convoy the hot air out. Please check the instruction manual for more detailed information. NOTE: between the back of the unit and the wall there must be a distance of at least 20 cm.

2) the dirty air filter
Pull out the air filter and clean it with air compressed or wash it like you do with the air conditioning unit.

3) a broken fan
Looking at the back of the chiller check if the fans are not working or are working slowly. To replace a fan please proceed in this way:
a) switch off the chiller pushing the on/off button and disconnect the supply cable
b) close the taps of water inlet and outlet and unscrew the ring nuts as well as the fairing ring nuts
c) pull out the air filter and pull the bottom of the fairing from the frontal part in order to separate it from the base NOTE: in the models TR-TC5 unscrew the two screws on the basement to remove the fairing
d) disjoint the electrical connections of the fans
e) unscrew the screws that fix the fans to the exchanger
f) fix the new fans and joint the electrical connections
g) close the fairing and restore the electrical and water connections

  • On my control panel is blinking AL2, what does it mean?

AL2 alarm indicates that the UV-C bulb is exhausted and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s therefore necessary to replace it.

a) switch off the chiller pushing the on/off button and disconnect the supply cable
b) close the taps of water inlet and outlet and unscrew the ring nuts as well as the fairing ring nuts
c) pull out the air filter and pull the bottom of the fairing from the frontal part in order to separate it from the base NOTE: in the models TR-TC5 unscrew the two screws on the basement to remove the fairing
d) pull out the UV-C bulb from its location inside the exchanger and disconnect it
e) without touching the glass of the new UV-C bulb connect it to the joint and put it inside the exchanger restoring the rubber stopper in its position inside the ring nut for waterproof
f) close the fairing and restore the electrical and water connections
g) switch on the chiller and hold down the UV-C button for 10 seconds to reset the timer

  • On my control panel is blinking E1, what does it mean?

E1 alarm indicates that the temperature probe is defecting.

a) switch off the chiller pushing the on/off button and disconnect the supply cable
b) close the taps of water inlet and outlet and unscrew the ring nuts as well as the fairing ring nuts
c) pull out the air filter and pull the bottom of the fairing from the frontal part in order to separate it from the base NOTE: in the models TR-TC5 unscrew the two screws on the basement to remove the fairing

Installation

  • Which is the proper installation for a chiller?

The best installation is outside the tank cabinet.
If you have to install the chiller inside the cabinet you have to arrange two holes on the cabinet for the air inlet and outlet. This is a very important point because to grant the performances of the chiller and avoid the overheating of the unit the hot air that exit from the back of the chiller must be convoyed outside of the cabinet. Please check the instruction manual for additional information.

  • Which is the proper technique for storing a chiller?

Empty the exchanger form salt water, connect the inlet and out let pipes to a tank with fresh water and start the pump for few minutes in order to clean the exchanger. Empty the exchanger from water and store the chiller.

  • Can I use my chiller outdoors?

The chiller has been designed to be installed indoor in a room temperature not higher than 38°C (100°F). It can be installed outside but it must be protected from rain, snow etc., the pipes have to be insulated and the ambient temperature must be between 5°C (41°F) and 38°C (100°F). In any case we suggest to contact your supplier in case of outdoor installation to check if possible.

  • Are there advantages to using a larger (more powerful) chiller than recommended for my tank size?

Yes, there certainly are — larger chillers run for shorter periods of time and therefore you extend the life of the equipment. Besides in this way you reduce the energy consumption.

General

  • Can I upgrade my TR chiller with UV-C kit and Heater kit?

Yes, you can order one or both kits and install them by yourself. Each kit is supplied with the related instruction and it is very simple to install.
